Shake Shack and Serve Robotics collaborate to launch automated food delivery

Shake Shack teamed up with Serve Robotics to launch automated food delivery service in Los Angeles

Shake Shack and Serve Robotics have teamed up to deliver food via moving sidewalk robots at specific locations in Los Angeles. The partnership will use Uber Eats to place orders and aims to expand the coverage of Serve’s robotic food delivery service. Serve Robotics will spin off from Uber in 2021 with the goal of deploying up to 2000 AI-powered robots on the Uber platform by 2025. The move reflects the growing trend in automation in the food delivery industry, with companies like Uber investing heavily in automation technology. Serve Robotics shares surged nearly 30% after the announcement, and the company reported a sevenfold increase in revenue in the second quarter of 2024.

Fast food chains Shake Shack(SHAK.US) and Serve Robotics(SERV.US) said they are working together to use autonomous sidewalk robots to deliver orders on Uber Eats.

The collaboration will cover selected Shake Shack restaurants in Los Angeles. (sw/t)(U.S. stocks are quoted in real-time streaming; except for OTC market stocks, data delay is at least 15 minutes.)
