The feature is now being rolled out in beta to users of the Plus, Pro and Team plans. It is planned to expand the scope of visits after the official release.
In this early beta, scheduling responsibilities could be established that enabled ChatGPT to perform automatic prompts and proactively contact you as scheduled. For example, ChatGPT could be asked to establish scheduling responsibilities for the following responsibilities:
“Can you introduce me to artificial intelligence news every afternoon?”
“Practice French with me every day”
“Remind me of my mother’s birthday”
Setting responsibilities
To turn on scheduling responsibilities, click your personal data icon, and then click Responsibilities in the pop-up menu.

If this is the first time you have set up tasks, you can choose one of the tasks we recommend or click “Try your own tasks” to set up a scheduled task:

You can also create new responsibilities by asking ChatGPT. You first need to select “ChatGPT with Scheduling Tasks” from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Then, ask ChatGPT to create a task such as “Remind me that March 13 is my mother’s birthday.”
After submitting responsibilities to ChatGPT, you will receive the following confirmation message:

If you need to disable or enable notifications on any mobile or desktop application, you can do so through the notification settings on the ChatGPT Web, including push notifications, email, or both.

To edit or pause the responsibilities you have created, click the vertical three-click tab. You can also view all existing scheduled tasks by clicking “View All Tasks”.

Please note that you may need to update other browser settings to enable desktop notifications. If we detect that the necessary permissions are not enabled, you will see the following notification in the conversation:

After you click Allow, your browser may provide a notification to enable the necessary permissions. On Chrome, you will see the following:
If you want to receive mobile push notifications on iOS or Android, try creating tasks on your mobile device by selecting “ChatGPT withhtasks” in the model selector. Then, after you create your first scheduled responsibility, ChatGPT will ask you for notification rights.
Once you grant action notification rights, liability notices will be sent on any platform you use ChatGPT.
Update your liability plans and notices
ChatGPT Web, iOS, Android, and MacOS support scheduling tasks. Scheduled tasks on Windows apps will be available later in the first quarter. Please note that the Responsibilities page (where you can view and manage all scheduled responsibilities) is currently only available on ChatGPT Web.
If you need to disable notifications on any mobile device or desktop application, you can do so through the notification settings on ChatGPT Web.
You can also update your responsibilities on ChatGPT’s Responsibilities page. To turn on scheduling responsibilities, click your personal data icon, and then click Responsibilities in the pop-up menu. Then, hover your mouse over the task you want to update, and click the pencil to update.
You can also pause or delete this responsibility with a three-click click.

By clicking on the pencil, you can update the name, description, and schedule settings of the task. You can also update your responsibility plan by tracking plans in conversations where responsibilities are established.

If you select “Custom Plan”, the system will provide you with a link to an accountability conversation so that you can follow up on the plan instructions.
Limitation of use of liability
Liability in ChatGPT uses GPT-4o, so the usage restrictions of your ChatGPT program also apply to liability.
ChatGPT limits 10 activity responsibilities at any time. If this limit is reached, ChatGPT will not be able to create new responsibilities unless you suspend or delete existing activity responsibilities or the responsibility is completed as scheduled.
Tasks in ChatGPT are currently in beta and do not yet support the following features and tools:
- Voice chats
- File Uploads File Uploads
- GPTs GPT
