Google launches “Ask Photos” AI assistant

Enhance image search capabilities

Google is rolling out its new “Ask Photos” feature, which is currently being tested among selected users in the United States. The AI-driven tool allows users to query their photo libraries using natural language questions such as “Where was the last time we went camping in Yosemite?” or “What did we eat at the Stanley Hotel?” The assistant uses Google’s Gemini AI model to provide relevant responses and pictures.

In addition, improved search features allow users to find pictures through natural descriptions, such as “Alice and I are laughing.” Users can sort results by date or relevance. The update also includes a new “Favorites” page that replaces the “Library” tab to make it easier to browse photos and videos.

The feature is available in English on Android and iOS, and there are plans to support more languages soon. Interested users can join the waiting list on Google’s website.
