RTranslator: An open source, free offline real-time translation application

Real-time dialogue translation for multiple people and multiple languages can be realized

Users can connect to the application through a Bluetooth headset, put the phone in their pockets, and engage in real-time language conversion conversations with others. The application will automatically translate and broadcast the other party’s language.
It includes three modes: dialogue mode, intercom mode and text translation.
The conversation mode is played through the other party’s mobile phone or Bluetooth headset.
You can connect multiple devices to realize real-time dialogue and translation for multiple people and languages.
Interphone mode plays translated voice through the microphone and conducts conversations alternately. Bluetooth headphones are not supported.

conversation mode

Conversation mode is the main function of RTranslator. In this mode, you can connect to another phone using this application. If the user accepts your connection request:

As you speak, your phone (or Bluetooth headset, if connected) will capture audio.
The captured audio will be converted to text and sent to the speaker’s phone.
The interlocutor’s mobile phone translates the received text into his language.
The interlocutor’s phone converts the translated text into audio and reproduces it from the speaker (or via the interlocutor’s Bluetooth headset if connected to his phone).
All of this goes both ways.
Each user can have multiple connected phones so that you can translate conversations between more than two people and any combination.

intercom mode

If the conversation mode is suitable for having a long conversation with someone, then the mode is designed for quick conversations, such as asking for information on the street or talking to a clerk.
This mode can only translate conversations between two people, does not work with Bluetooth headphones, and must take turns speaking. This is not true simultaneous interpretation, but it can only be used on one mobile phone.
In this mode, the smartphone microphone will listen in both languages simultaneously (you can select from the same screen in intercom mode).
The app will detect which language the speaker uses, translate the audio into another language, convert text to audio, and then reproduce it from the phone’s speakers. After TTS ends, it will automatically resume listening.

Text translation model

This model is just a classic text translator, but it is always useful.
