Omnivore: An open source “read later” app

Omnivore is an open source. Read the application later and check the official page. It supports a lot of clients, including iOS, macOS, Chrome, etc. Android is still in testing.

Omnivore attracts the ability to sync with other external applications, such as syncing with Obisidian and receiving Newsletters. Another thing that attracted me was that many claimed to be a substitute for the “Readwise” reader, which is also an online reader that has not been used in depth.

Function:

read later

Collecting all Newsletters will generate an email address of [email protected]. When using this address when subscribing, all subscription content sent to this email will automatically be stored in Omnivore
Sync reading progress on all platforms
classification grouping function
Support synchronization with [[Logseq]] and [[Obsidian]]
Text-to-speech, support conversion of articles to audio

How to add content

Omnivore can add reading sources in many ways

Add web pages through official browser plug-ins, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari
Add links directly through the macOS client, or other mobile clients (iOS, Android)
What’s even better is that Omnivore can also crawl the content of Weixin Official Accounts.
The macOS client also supports importing PDFs
Add a Feed through an RSS feed link similar to an RSS reader
