Help users make shopping decisions
After months of testing, Amazon today launched its generative artificial intelligence shopping assistant Rufus to all U.S. customers. This conversational shopping assistant is designed to help customers save time and make smarter purchasing decisions.
Rufus is now available in the Amazon shopping app, coinciding with Prime Day (July 16 – 17).
Back in February this year, Rufus made its debut as an early taste experience for a few users. Today, it has fully evolved, relying on Amazon’s rich product data, user reviews, community Q & A and even Internet information base to accurately respond to user needs.
Users can directly ask Rufus specific questions about the product, such as “Is this coffee maker convenient to clean and maintain?” Or seek recommendations for outdoor speakers, or even consult on products related to summer party preparations. In addition, it also transforms into a small expert in order tracking, keeping users informed of the latest developments in orders at any time.
When experiencing the updated Amazon app, we found that Rufus was able to intelligently identify users ‘browsing behavior. For example, when users pay attention to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Rufus will proactively ask,”How long can this watch last on a single charge?” It quickly gave the answer of 40 hours of battery life, but unfortunately, it did not specify in detail how this would behave when the always-on display function was turned off, which may be shortened to about 30 hours in actual use.
