Midjourney role consistency feature released

The following video shows how to use the website and introduction:

This feature is similar to previous style references, except that instead of matching a specific style, it matches the character to a given character reference image.

How to use:

Add the–cref URL after the command you enter, which is a link to the character image you choose.
You can also use–cw to adjust the “strength” of the reference, ranging from 100 to 0.
The default intensity is 100 (–cw 100), and the person’s face, hair style and clothing will be referenced.
If the intensity is set to 0 (–cw0), the system will only focus on the face (which is helpful for changing clothing or hairstyles).

Scope of application:

This feature is best suited for character images created by Midjourney. Not very suitable for use in live photos (may cause some distortion, like normal image prompts).
Cref works similar to normal image prompts, but it focuses more on the character’s characteristics.
Note, however, that this technique is limited in its accuracy and cannot replicate extremely subtle features, such as specific dimples, freckles or logos on T-shirts. Cref works equally well for Niji and ordinary MJ models and can be used with–sref.

Advanced features:

You can use multiple URLs to combine character information in multiple images with–cref URL1URL2 (similar to using multiple images or style prompts).

How to operate in web alpha version:

Just drag or paste the picture into the Imagine toolbar and you will see three icons. Select one of these icons to set the picture to be used as an image prompt, style reference, or character reference. If you want an image to be used in multiple categories at the same time, just hold down the Shift key and select.
Keep in mind that since MJ V6 is currently in alpha testing, this and other features may change. But soon, we will launch the official V6 beta version.
