Ball tracking: Due to its small size and fast movement, tracking the ball is extremely difficult, especially in high-resolution video.
Reading jersey numbers: Accurate reading of players ‘jersey numbers is often affected by blurred videos, players turning around, or other objects obscuring the numbers.
Player tracking: Maintaining consistent player identification throughout the game is a challenge due to frequent obtrusions caused by other players or objects on the field.
Player re-identification: Re-identifying a player who left and re-entered the screen can be tricky, especially if the camera is moving or the player’s vision is similar.
Camera calibration: Accurately calibrating the camera view is critical to extracting advanced statistics such as player speed and distance traveled. Due to the dynamic nature of the movement and the different camera angles, this is a complex task.
